Located in Naples’ Design District, directly across from the Gulfshore Playhouse, the newly completed 1st Ave Parking Garage brings a thoughtful, design-forward approach to an often overlooked building type. For this project, much of my focus centered on the facade materials and how they elevate the overall aesthetic. A diverse mix of architectural elements work together to create depth and visual interest, including bronze colored aluminum strut canopies, wood-grain Geolam facades, ACM stairwell and roof canopies, aluminum mesh panels, perforated aluminum panels, horizontal picket stairway railing, and plant trellis structures. Each component contributes to a layered, cohesive design that shifts throughout the day as light interacts with the materials.
Projects like this highlight how even utilitarian spaces can contribute to the character of a neighborhood when design is approached with intention. Architectural photography plays a key role in documenting that effort, giving architects, builders, and developers strong visual assets to support their portfolios, marketing, and future work.
